Excerpt from Beautiful Thoughts From Latin Authors

Panties is the writer of ninety-seven fables in Latin iambic verse, divided into five books. Little of his personal history is known. He was originally a slave, being brought up from Thrace or Mace donia, and from the title of his work we may infer that he belonged to Augustus, who bestowed on him his freedom.
